When I was young, I learned that I was missing several permanent teeth. The idea then, of becoming a dentist, having had such an alarming start, would have been out of the question. Still a reluctant and fearful patient, I met a new dentist later on who explained my situation in terms I could understand. With growing trust, I began what would be years of complex treatment. It was his engaged and supportive approach that triggered my interest in the profession, and coincidentally, that dentist ended up mentoring me in dental school.
Decades later, my favourite part of the day is working through fears or barriers with my patients, and creating a comprehensive plan tailored to their needs. My greatest joy is seeing that plan come to life in restored health, improved function, or even a whole new smile.

1984 - Undergraduate in Chemistry and Genetics, University of Winnipeg
1988 - DMD from University of Manitoba (Recipient of the Mary Jane Trophy: nominated and voted on by members of the fourth year class, the trophy is awarded on the basis of: academic performance; cooperation shown to fellow students and staff; quality of care rendered to patients; and participation in extra curricular activities with emphasis on class activities and athletics)
1994-1998 - Worked as an associate in Port Coquitlam
1992 - Commendation from the Chief of the Defense Staff for humanitarian service provided in Somalia, Africa to the local hospital in Mogadishu for training provided to local health care workers in the provision of emergency dental treatment
1998-2018 - Private practice in West Vancouver
